The Dr. N Jane McCandless Leadership Awards

Dr. N. Jane McCandless, Professor of Sociology and the founding Dean of the College of Social Sciences at the University of West Georgia, has been a tremendous supporter of PARC for more than two decades. Also, Dr. McCandless served for several years as the Chair of the Board of Directors. Dr. McCandless is also a loyal supporter of PARC’s annual fundraiser, Night in Lights, each December. Currently, Dr. McCandless serves as Chair Emeritus of PARC.

In 2016, the Board of Directors voted to name the organization’s volunteer and community leadership awards in her honor. The awards recognize individuals and organizations who have demonstrated excellent leadership and dedication to their community and the issue of sexual violence in West Georgia.
